“Doug Jones’ historic victory in Alabama signals that candidates who pledge to advance reproductive health, rights and justice can run and win on their principles – even in more conservative jurisdictions. The people of Alabama came out in droves to make their voices heard and elect a candidate who stands up for women and their right to make their own decisions about their bodies – and against the degradations and bullying represented by Roy Moore.

“In 2018, the National Institute for Reproductive Health Action Fund will enthusiastically support local candidates who are committed to protecting and advancing reproductive freedom and standing up for the rights of women. Together, we will leave an enduring legacy that safeguards access to abortion and contraception, regardless of what happens in Washington, D.C.”
