Statement from Randi Gregory, Vice President of Political and Legislative Affairs, National Institute for Reproductive Health Action Fund:
“Once again, this time in Kentucky, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia voters re-affirmed what we’ve long known — reproductive freedom is a winning issue across this country.
“While we mark sweeping pro-abortion victories, we must remember election night is just the beginning. In Ohio, voters, advocates, and allies must work together in the courts, in the legislature, and in city and town halls to ensure the abortion rights voters just approved become a practical reality for people who need access.
“In re-electing Gov. Andy Beshear, Kentucky voters resoundingly rejected Daniel Cameron’s anti-abortion agenda. We commend voters in Pennsylvania for taking action and appointing Dan McCaffery to the state Supreme Court, an important step in defending reproductive freedom at the local level. And in New Jersey and Virginia where voters elected pro-abortion majorities in their state legislatures, it will be incumbent upon all of us to demand just and equitable policies and to ensure every elected ally keeps their campaign promises.
“Now is the time to reach for abortion policies that leave no one behind and NIRH AF commits to working with partners nationwide to forge a path that supports every person’s ability to make decisions about their bodies, no matter what point in pregnancy.”
